El pugilista sinaloense Julio César Chávez Jr. se desligó de las acusaciones sobre un supuesto vínculo con narcotraficantes mexicanos.

En abril pasado, el rector de la Universidad de El Paso, Texas, decidió cancelar la pelea del azteca, argumentando que existían problemas de seguridad.

"Se me hace bastante raro. Son chismes nada más porque nunca he tenido ningún problema. Todo en mi vida está limpio, soy una persona de bien que inculca el deporte a los niños, a la gente. Siempre hay personas que quieren manchar algo así. En mi mente estoy limpio y eso es lo más importante. La prueba está en que la pelea [ante el irlandés Andy Lee] se hará aquí, porque no hay nada", dijo el sinaloense de 26 años de edad.

Chávez Jr. comentó sobre la información sobre el vínculo que supuestamente tiene su actual pareja, Frida:

"No existe ninguna relación. Es mi novia, vive conmigo y no veo que tenga una conexión con alguien. Si tuvo en el pasado, es su pasado. Si tuviera un problema, cómo la dejarían pasar a Estados Unidos. Eso prueba que no hay nada", enfatizó Chávez.

Este sábado el sinaloense buscará defender por tercera ocasión la corona mundial de los pesos Medios del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo cuando enfrente al irlandés Andy Lee en el Sun Bowl de El Paso.
