LAS VEGAS - El estadounidense Teon Kennedy no fue un reto para el cubano Guillermo Rigondeaux.

La noche del sábado en el MGM Grand de Las Vegas, Nevada, el 'Chacal' logró retener por primera ocasión la corona mundial Supergallo de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo al dar cuenta en apenas cinco episodios a Kennedy.

Con tan sólo nueve peleas como profesional, pero con una larga carrera dentro del boxeo amateur y dos medallas de oro en juegos olímpicos, Rigondeaux dominó por completo a Kennedy que lo superaba con ocho peleas profesional y lo mandó a la lona en cinco ocasiones antes de que el referi Russell Mora decidiera detener las acciones.

Con un boxeo sin mucho movimiento pero muy preciso, Rigondeaux logró sumar su décima pelea profesional y su octavo nocaut.

"La pelea fue perfecta, mis golpes precisos. Esta fue mi mejor pelea", dijo el cubano de 32 años de edad.

Por su parte, Kennedy comentó que los golpes de Rigondeaux no fueron muy fuertes el problema durante el encuentro fue que jamás los vio.

Bailey sorprende

A sus 37 años de edad, el peleador de Miami, Florida, Randall Bailey se coronó campeón mundial Welter de la Federación Internacional de Boxeo al dar cuenta de Mike Jones en once episodios.

Después de ir perdiendo toda la pelea, Jones fue sorprendido en el décimo episodio con una recta a la barbilla y fue enviado a la lona lastimado; para el siguiente episodio, Bailey soltó un uper que terminó por completo con el joven peleador que marchaba con calidad de invicto.
