La Selección de Polonia, co-anfitriona del torneo, será la encargada de abrir actividad de la XIV edición de la Eurocopa 2012 ante su similar de Grecia, en duelo correspondiente al Grupo A.

El árbitro español Carlos Velasco Carballo será el encargado de aplicar el reglamento en el inicio del certamen continental, donde no hay un claro favorito que se pueda quedar con los primeros tres puntos en la cancha del estadio Narodowy.

Los polacos dirigidos por Franciszek Smuda buscarán dar la primera alegría a su afición, que sin duda deberá hacer un gran trabajo, una gran presión sobre su rival para que se sienta el peso de la localía, factor favorable para Polonia.

Pero enfrente estarán los griegos que saben hacer mejor las cosas cuando nadie apuesta por ellos y mañana vaan por dar duro golpe al cuadro anfitrión.

Ambos cuadros se enfrentarán por primera ocasión en esta fase de Eurocopa y antes midieron fuerzas pero fue en las eliminatorias, donde Polonia tiene tres triunfos por uno de los griegos.

La última ocasión que se enfrentaron fue en 2011 en encuentro de carácter amistoso, mismo que concluyó sin goles, resultado que se espera no se repita mañana en el juego inaugural.

El futbol no es todo pero sin duda que Grecia buscará dar una satisfacción a su pueblo, el cual atraviesa por grave crisis financiera.

El equipo blanquiazul tuvo la satisfacción de vencer al equipo anfitrión en la edición del 2004 cuando se midió a Portugal, algo que espera repetir este viernes en lo que será un juego importante para ambos representativos, ya que el primero es vital en sus aspiraciones de clasificar a cuartos de final.
