BOSTON (AP) — Rajon Rondo encestó 15 puntos y repartió 15 asistencias, y anotó los últimos tres tantos en la victoria en tiempo extra que los Celtics de Boston consiguieron el domingo por 93-91 sobre el Heat de Miami para empatar 2-2 la serie final de la Conferencia del Este.

En un juego que empezó con un estallido de los Celtics y después se convirtió en un episodio lleno de faltas y tensión en el último período, al que siguió el segundo tiempo extra de esta serie, Boston celebró cuando Wade falló un triple que habría podido representar la victoria en la última posesión.

"Sabíamos que iban a buscar a Wade. Yo quería seguirlo", dijo Rondo. "Crearon una gran elección .... Tenemos suerte de que tuvimos una pausa".

Tras el respiro que recibieron con la salida de LeBron James por acumulación de faltas, la primera vez desde que éste se sumó al Heat, los Celtics se recuperaron después de desperdiciar una ventaja de 18 puntos en el tiempo regular para ponerse a dos victorias de su tercera final de la NBA en cinco años.

Mickael Pietrus provocó la sexta falta de James y atrapó dos enormes rebotes ofensivos que alargaron posesiones consecutivas para los Celtics, que perdieron el cuarto juego en tiempo extra en una serie de segunda ronda de postemporada ante el Heat el año pasado cuando tenían la oportunidad de empatar la serie.

En esta ocasión, se sobrepusieron a su parón ofensivo en la segunda mitad al limitar al Heat a sólo una canasta en la prórroga, de Udonis Haslem.

Una bandeja de Rondo dio a los Celtics una ventaja de 92-91 cuando quedaban 2:34 minutos, y ninguno de los equipos volvió a anotar hasta que él convirtió un tiro libre con 21 segundos por jugar. Wade, que ya tenía dificultades para encontrar espacios sin Chris Bosh y luego sin James, vio como su intento, que podría haberles dado el triunfo, rebotó contra el aro mientras el tiempo expiraba.

En lo que podría haber sido el último partido en Boston para los Tres Grandes de los Celtics, anotaron 61 puntos en una primera mitad sensacional que concluyó con comentarios provocadores de Rondo. Pero sólo lograron 12 puntos en el tercer cuarto.

Kevin Garnett sumó 17 puntos y 14 rebotes para los Celtics, mientras que Paul Pierce anotó 23 tantos antes de salir del partido por acumulación de faltas. Ray Allen terminó con 16 tantos.

Después de guiar a los Celtics a la más alta puntuación que el Heat ha concedido en una mitad en esta postemporada, Rondo lanzó un dardo a los visitantes, al asegurar en su entrevista televisada del medio tiempo que lo que estaba funcionando para Boston era que el Heat se "quejaba y lloraba ante los árbitros en las transiciones".

No se echó para atrás después del partido. "Lo que dije era cierto", dijo Rondo. "No me retracto de lo que he dicho. Eso es lo que es".

James consiguió 29 puntos y Dwyane Wade anotó 20 para el Heat, que será el martes anfitrión del quinto partido entre ambos conjuntos.
