OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Kevin Durant anotó 22 puntos, Thabo Sefolosha impuso su mejor marca en los playoffs con 19 unidades y seis robos, y el Thunder de Oklahoma City rompió a los Spurs de San Antonio una racha de 20 victorias consecutivas al apabullarlos el jueves por 102-82, en el tercer partido de la final de la Conferencia del Oeste.

Oklahoma City se acercó en la serie a 2-1 y recibirá el cuarto partido el sábado por la noche.

Sefolosha averió la aceitada ofensiva de los Spurs desde el comienzo, al robar cuatro balones en los primeros tres minutos. Los Spurs terminaron perdiendo 21 veces el balón, la peor cifra en la postemporada, y anotaron su menor total de puntos en lo que va de la campaña.

El francés Tony Parker y Stephen Jackson encabezaron a los Spurs con 16 puntos cada uno. Tim Duncan sumó 11 unidades, fruto de cinco encestes en 15 disparos, y realizó 11 de los primeros 25 tiros de San Antonio, cuya ofensiva recurrió al pívot estelar y no a Parker, ante los problemas que representó la defensiva del Thunder.

Manu Ginóbili sumó ocho puntos, al acertar uno de cinco disparos en jugada y convertir sus cinco tiros libres. El argentino sumó también seis rebotes, una asistencia y dos faltas.

San Antonio había promediado 109,4 puntos durante su racha victoriosa de mes y medio, y sólo en dos ocasiones había anotado menos de un centenar de unidades.

Los Spurs, que habían impuesto ya un récord de la NBA, con la seguidilla de victorias más larga entre la temporada regular y los playoffs, buscaban igualar la marca de la liga, de más triunfos en el comienzo de la postemporada.

Los Lakers ganaron 11 encuentros seguidos en el comienzo de los playoffs de 1989 y 2001. La primera vez fueron barridos en la final de la NBA y la segunda se coronaron.

La última derrota de los Spurs fue el 11 de abril, recibiendo a los Lakers.

Parker y Duncan no jugaron los últimos 15 minutos, y el entrenador Gregg Popovich se resignó después de otra serie de tres balones perdidos en forma consecutiva, lo que amplió la desventaja a 23 puntos al comienzo del último periodo.

Sefolosha clavó el balón en el aro con la mano derecha, tras un pase de Russell Westbrook, quien siguió con una volcada a dos manos en un "alley-oop". Luego, Sefolosha siguió encestando de espaldas, gracias a otro balón perdido, poniendo el marcador en 86-63, con 9:48 minutos por jugarse.
