Gustavo Cerati cumple dos años en coma y su madre relata: "no perdemos la esperanza".

BUENOS AIRES (AP) — Después de dos años de sufrir un accidente cerebro vascular, Gustavo Cerati sigue en la lucha por despertar de un coma con el apoyo incondicional de sus seguidores y en particular de su madre, quien lo visita diariamente y asegura que "Gustavo escucha".

La última vez que el rockero subió a un escenario fue la noche del 15 de mayo de 2010, cuando presentaba en Caracas su disco "Fuerza natural". Tras el concierto, Cerati se desvaneció a causa de una reducción del flujo sanguíneo en el cerebro, que desde entonces no le ha permitido despertar.

La ausencia del ex líder de Soda Stereo, de 52 años, no ha hundido en el desaliento a su familia.

"No abre aún los ojos ... Sabemos que es una enfermedad larga y difícil, pero no perdemos la esperanza", dijo el lunes a The Associated Press la madre del cantante, Lilian Clark, en la clínica ALCLA de Buenos Aires donde lo visita diariamente.

"Gustavo escucha, es decir, Gustavo está", agregó la madre quien ha señalado en varias ocasiones que cuando le habla, Cerati responde moviendo la cabeza o las manos.

"Está entero, fuerte. A veces dicen: pueden ser nada más que sensaciones, pero yo miro monitores, no solamente lo miro a él, y lo veo dar respuestas, lógicamente pequeñitas; esto es lento pero no va para atrás ... no sólo nosotros la peleamos, él también la está peleando", agregó.

Siempre optimista y amable con los admiradores y periodistas que la abordan para preguntarle por el estado de salud de quien es considerado uno de los músicos más influyentes de Latinoamérica, Clark no ha dejado de insistir que Cerati puede despertar. Por eso descarta que la ley de muerte digna recientemente aprobada en Argentina pueda aplicarse al caso de su hijo.

Mientras "él esté, está toda la esperanza", dijo. "Gustavo no tiene muerte cerebral ... él no está en esa situación como para que se me haya pasado por la cabeza semejante cosa", agregó sobre las posibilidades de desconectarlo de las máquinas que lo mantienen con vida.

El Congreso argentino aprobó la semana una ley que da a los pacientes terminales o en estado vegetativo permanente y a sus familias la capacidad para ordenar a los médicos poner fin al soporte que los mantiene vivos. Establece que los enfermos o sus familiares pueden descartar operaciones quirúrgicas, hidratación y nutrición, reanimación y sistemas de soporte vital.

Un comunicado de la clínica ALCLA señaló el martes que el músico continúa manteniendo "un status neurológico y clínico estable", con asistencia respiratoria mecánica y en buen estado nutricional. Además está "sin complicaciones" mientras que continúa el mismo esquema de cuidados y tratamiento.

Mientras tanto, los fans del autor de temas como "Signos", "Trátame suavemente" y "Me quedo aquí" tampoco han dejado de demostrar que están pendientes de su evolución y junto con la familia del cantante planean una "una cadena de canto y oraciones" para el martes y el miércoles.

Otros cientos han dejado mensajes a lo largo de estos dos años frente a la clínica donde está internado Cerati, en las paredes de un garaje.

"Buenas vibras en tu descanso momentáneo", dice Claudia Benegas, de Paraguay. "Fuerza Gus, en Colombia te esperamos", señala a su vez otro mensaje que no lleva firma, mientras que un tercero le pide a Luis Alberto Espinetta, considerado el padre del rock argentino y fallecido de un cáncer en febrero: "Flaco, cuando hables con Dios, pedile que Gustavo se despierte". Los mensajes de apoyo al Cerati también llenan las redes sociales.

"No cede el entusiasmo y la pasión de sus fans; no solo de Argentina, sino de Chile, México, de todos lados. Siguen haciendo lo que yo digo: los pies en la tierra con la ciencia y la mirada en el cielo, para pedir que Dios nos de una mano, que creo que la está dando", afirmó Clark.

Fernando López, 34 años y admirador del músico desde los 10, dijo que los seguidores del cantante no lo han olvidado.

"El me marcó la vida; no lo veo ausente, vengo casi siempre y hago mi rezo. Me encuentro con gente que viene a dar fuerza a la familia".

Tras la desintegración de Soda Stereo en 1997, Cerati tuvo una exitosa carrera como solista. Su último disco, "Fuerza natural" fue laureado con tres Latin Grammy en 2010, cuando el músico ya estaba en coma.
