Demandan a Elton John por presunto plagio de la canción 'Nikita'

San Diego (Notimex).- Un fotógrafo y compositor demandó en una corte estadunidense a Elton John, presuntamente por haber plagiado la canción "Nikita" que la estrella del pop británico estrenó en 1985.

Según Guy Hobbs, él habría escrito el tema en 1982 con base en una historia personal y con el título de "Natasha".

Hobbs dijo que la letra de la canción se refiere a una relación breve que tuvo con una mesera en un crucero ruso a principios de la década de los años 80.

Sostuvo que en esa época envió muestras del tema a diversas empresas, incluida la que graba a Elton John, la Big Pig, sin que obtuviera ninguna respuesta.

La "Nikita" a la que se refiere Elton John en su canción sería una bella guardia militar de la antigua Alemania del Este que vigilaba los límites con la Alemania Occidental, antes de que cayera el Muro de Berlín.

Elton John no ha respondido aún a la demanda.
